KEY LARGO, FL

The summer heat and humidity in Key Largo fires off the typical afternoon thunderstorm.   This creates dramatic skies and beautiful sunsets.  Occasionally, we get close encounters with our wild neighbors.

2015

Our plans were to spend a couple of day at Sequoia National Park, but mother nature allowed us only a couple of hours.  Luckily the weather lifted enough for us to explore the foothills.

JOSHUA TREE N.P., CA

This was our first visit to the desert.  We really enjoyed the space and the quiet.  Sunset and sunrise are breath taking.  It was a nice change of pace from south Florida. Finally, no humidity.

LA JOLLA, CA

La Jolla is a little gem of a place.  We enjoyed walking along the coast and watching the town wake up.  From sea lions to surfers, there was lots to see in a small area.

ROCKY MOUNTAINS, CO

We hiked in rain, hail, and beautiful sunshine.  A little more oxygen would have been nice for us sea level flat land types.  Wow, what incredible natural beauty. Must go back and hike some more.

COLUMBIA RIVER

We toke a National Geographic / Lindblad cruise which took us from the Pacific to Clarkston, WA.  We traveled along the Lewis and Clark route, visiting sites of historical, cultural, and ecological significance.  A great company with which to take a cruise.

SEATTLE, WA

I had the good fortune of spend a couple of days wondering around Seattle on two trips.  The weather was glorious, the people were very friendly, and the food was heavenly.  Such a beautiful and vibrant city.  I am looking forward to a return trip.

HAWAII, HI

When you need to get away from it all, big island of Hawaii is just what the doctor ordered.  Green sand, black sand, volcanos, snorkeling, hiking, burgers at Annie’s and Kona Lavaman Red Ale.  Perspective and attitude adjusted.

PROVINCETOWN, MA

Located at the extreme tip of the Cape is ‘P-town’.  It is a little slice of creativity, culture and captivating views.  Traveling with the cousins just added a bit of fun to the adventure.

CAPE COD, MA HALLOWEEN

A family road trip to enjoy the local sights was delightful.  We saw scarecrow competitions, Halloween window displays and autumn color at every venue throughout the week.  New Englanders go all out.

MARTHAS VINEYARD, MA

Steve’s clan joined us on a ferry trip to the Vineyard in the offseason.  We traveled on foot and by bus to see some of the sights of island life.  My favorite place was the cottages in Oaks Bluff - each one looking like a doll house with it’s own unique signature.

CAPE COD, MA

We cooked, we ate, we drank, we cried, we laughed, talked politics, walked the coastline, watched the sunset, and we even danced.  Sharing time with family in such a beautiful setting…it doesn’t get much better than this.

My wife and I escaped the children in June 2007 to return to Hawaii and visited Maui.  We spent a couple of day in Oahu before visiting Maui.
